I am starting this monthly favorites series so I can write more (at least once a month) and also to improve my (very basic) photography skills.
So this is my first of the many many more to come (hopefully!).
So, for this month's favorites, I have 5 of my current go-to essentials. These five come with me to (almost) everywhere, (almost) everyday. I have a skincare, 2 lip products, a perfume and a handbag(!).
So, let's start with skincare. I have a normal to combination skin, oily on the T-zone area and dry on my cheeks. I rarely get zits, unless it's the time of the month, so my skincare is well, basic. This Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula Daily Facial Lotion with SPF 15 is my go-to moisturizer for many many years. I think I have gone through almost 5 or 6 tubes of this. It works perfectly well for my skin, gives moisture and sun protection (albeit not enough, but better than nothing) and affordable. It used to retail at RM23.90 at Guardian but I think they have increased the price, which now retails at RM37.90, with new packaging (mine is the old one). I really recommend this one if you have normal to combination skin.
If you know me, you know I have a very unhealthy obsession with lip products. I usually gravitated towards the bold and bright colors, but this month I am feeling this Please Me from MAC. It is described as muted-rosy-tinted-pink with matte finish on MAC's website and it is indeed just that. This one is perfect for everyday wear when you want a little bit of color.
Who has a drawer full of lip balms and still buy them when they see one? *raises hand* I always justify my lip balms purchases because I need them in every bag and every drawer in my house. This is Rosebud Perfume Company's Strawberry Lip Balm. Very pleasing to the eyes on your vanity table and works well on your lips. I usually put this on before going to bed so my lips is ready for some matte lipstick action when I wake up.
I never thought I would love this one, but I did. Never say never! I caved in and jump onto the Viktor & Rolf's Flowerbomb bandwagon. I first had a whiff and hated the smell until I received a few samples from Sephora (after spending bajillions money) and I fell in love with the smell. I am bad at describing smell (says everyone on Youtube) so, here is the notes encased in that beautiful bottle.
And my final favorite for this month, is this beautiful baby! It's Preston Small Flap from Fossil and it is all kinds of amazing. It might look small but I can fit all my essentials in this one (purse, iPhone, powerbank, lipsticks, keys) and there's still room for more. This is by far my best purchase this month!
So there's that. All of my favorites from this month. Here's to hoping I have enough willpower to continue doing this for months to come.
